We completed our 2024 Expected Buffalo prospects rankings for the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday evening. Anthony, Austin, Eddy, and I reviewed our consensus list based on our individual rankings and finalized the results.

Coincidentally, we stuck to the initial consensus rankings but did add tiering to our list.

First, we’ll start with how the fans ranked the prospects. We had a total of 140 responses and below is how the list was compiled.

As a reminder, here are the rules that qualified a player to be a part of this list:

• Prospects under 24 years old.
• Players that appeared in at least 41 NHL games were not eligible.

Based on these criteria, trades, and contract status the following players graduated from the list this year:

• Zach Benson | 2023 Rank – 2 | Played over 41 NHL games
• Matt Savoie | 2023 Rank – 4 | Traded
• Filip Cederqvist | 2023 Rank – 18 | Traded
• Mats Lindgren | 2023 Rank – 20 | Exclusive rights expired

Below is our consensus ranking for 2024. You’ll see in the charts where we ranked the player if they moved up or down, and what league they’re playing in next season. Also, the red bar is where we cut our tiers in the ranking.
